1/14

Today in class we had gone over the power point of North Korea and we are taking a test on it. Mr. Schick has put the movie online so we are able to watch it all over again to study. We have to know all the leaders.
Kim Song il
Kim Jong il
Kim jong un
we have to be able to find it on a map and name the countries around it
North Korea
South Korea
China
Russia
Japan
We have to know the kind of government they have and when did it start
they have a communist government started in 1958
We also have to know that on a night picture North Korea is pitch black.
We have to know some of the facts that Mr. Schick put on the power point such as his birth was heralded by a swallow, caused winter to change to spring, a star to illuminate the sky, and a double rainbow spontaneously appeared.
He learned to walk at the age of three weeks, and was talking at eight weeks.
He wrote 1,500 books over a period of three years, along with six full operas. According to his official biography, all of his operas are "better than any in the history of music."

Today in class we had finished watching the documentary of North Korea. In the rest of the movie it shows how a North Korean escapes the country and how his family was punished and it showed how the medical crew was able to reach their goal of healing all the blind. The North Korean who had escaped to South Korea had to leave because he had messed up on the announcements and was going to be punished by death so he and one of his coworkers drugged all the people there than crossed the electric wire fence which is where his friend died. Then he had to cross the biggest mine field in the world just to get arrested at the border of south Korea and was able to start a life there. The scene where all the blind people get healed is wired to me because the blind people were getting cured by the doctors and they gave all the credit to the leaders of the country.

1/7

today in class we went over what we learned about North Korea on Monday because we didn't have school on Tuesday. We also had 30 minutes in class because we had a 2 hour delay today and at least an hour delay tomorrow depending on if the Harford County Public Schools have off and whatever the seniors are doing tomorrow. But when we were done we went to the movie studio where we watched a documentary on North Korea of the only reporter in America to go there. She was safe there because she was with a guy coming to cure people of their blindness and teach North Korea to cure it as well. They show how secluded the North Koreans were from the world and how they brain wash their people to believe that Korea was the best place ever and how everyone of their leaders are like the son of god themselves.

Today in class we talked about what we did over the Christmas and what movies we saw during Christmas Break North and South Korea then took notes on it. I went to New York over Christmas Break for my cousin’s first birthday party then on Christmas Eve we unwrapped presents and had a big sleep over party at my house, on Christmas day we went out and saw the new version of Annie which I thought was pretty good
North Korea
            - Oppressive government
-state run socialist government that may consider to be a Stalinist dictatorship
-official name: Democratic People's Republic of Korea
-Korea thinks they rule all of Korea
            - Very secluded and isolated from the world
    -isolated by the government
    -also somewhat isolated geographically
-after all they are on a peninsula
    -Pyongyang is the capital
-there are no lights so at night time compared to South Korea it looks pitched black
            - Current leader is Kim Jong-un
-Kim Jong-Un didn't seem to like "The Interview"
